Nepal Drivers To Switch Sides

The Ministry of Labour and Transportation Management announced in
Kathmandu today that Nepal will switch from driving on the left side of
the road to driving on the right. The statement also said that the
government will offer subsidized conversion kits for existing vehicles
with right-side steering.

Nepal's Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Saturday afternoon left for a week-long visit to Norway and Finland. The
PM left for Norway at 5 pm by a special flight leading a 19-member
government delegation. He is scheduled to come back home on April 4.

A police officer was killed after an armed group attacked a police
station in a remote village in western Nepal, officials said Saturday.
The attackers stormed a police station at Syawlebhan village in Pyuthan
district, about 350 kilometres west of the Nepalese capital Kathmandu
early Saturday morning.

Nepal Police arrested Rishi Dhamala, president of Reporters' Club, for
his close links with a terrorist outfit engaged in serial blasts across
Nepal. Police on Tuesday evening picked up Dhamala for his
closed links with Ranvir Sena, which vows to transform Nepal as a Hindu
Kingdom. The arrest was confirmed on Wednesday afternoon.

Nepal's state-run power monopoly increased daily power cuts to 16 hours
from 12 hours on Sunday because growing demand for electricity in
winter was putting further strain on generating capacity, an official
said. The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has been imposing 12 hours of
